Our round boards are a unique and flattering, round shape, with a natural live-edge.  They make an excellent cutting board or serving tray for breads, cheeses and charcuterie.

Our round boards are made out of spalted maple wood.  Maple wood is characterized by a smooth grain and unique light color.  We upcycle fallen maple trees that are in the early stages of decomposition to get remarkable spalted lines running throughout the wood.

Care:

Hand wash with mild soap and towel dry.

Apply mineral oil once a month to maintain the natural beauty of the wood.  

Our mineral oil has a beeswax base that adds beauty and protection from everyday wear and tear.  Beeswax conditioners help prevent wood from drying out as well as from absorbing too much moisture.

Prolonged exposure to water can cause damage; please do not submerge in water or place in the dishwasher.

About the Glaze
We developed our own glaze recipes and mix them in small batches regularly. There will be variation. Our indigo glaze is actually our a combination of our mussel glazed wiped into the pattern and then wiped out and dipped into our glossy clear glaze. Like magic in the kiln the two make a beautiful indigo and white finish. You may see some organic specks on your piece, we do not consider these defects, just part of the handmade nature of our work.

Our ceramics are handcrafted from durable, high quality porcelain glazed to over 2200 degrees. Our glazes are food safe and lead free. This piece is dishwasher safe. We make our tableware and accessories to be used and enjoyed everyday.

Our ceramics are handcrafted from durable, high quality porcelain. Our glazes are food safe and lead free. Our porcelain pieces are dishwasher and safe except where noted in their descriptions. For example, our bronze glaze should not be put in the microwave and this is noted in product descriptions of bronze glazed items. Although all of our pieces are dishwasher safe, hand washing will prolong the life cycle of your pottery. Dirt, stains, and metal marks from silverware (due to the ceramic being harder than the metal) particularly on our matte and semi-matte glazes, can be removed with Bar Keeper’s Friend, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or baking soda mixed with a bit of warm water. Our tableware can be warmed in the oven but do not expose the wares to dramatic shifts in temperature – e.g. do not put hot from the oven pieces into the refrigerator or from the freezer into a hot oven- allow for gradual change in temperature. Do not place over an open flame.

An absolutely beautiful glaze it is can have matte areas as well as glossier areas depending on the piece and thickness of application. The snowflake glaze is a satin finished warm white. You will see some gentle sparkly sheen, hence the name snowflake. It is a warm white. You may see some organic specks on your piece, we do not consider these defects, just part of the handmade nature of our work.
